Former star player for Man United Old Trafford has handed Danny Welbeck the green light in order to put Brighton in the lead.

Welbeck was given the freedom to drive the ball home in the Theatre of Dreams, which is almost certainly going to infuriate Erik ten Hag, who is virtually certain to be upset with the marking of his defenders.

Welbeck’s run into the box went completely unchallenged as the Seagulls broke down the right-hand side, and when the ball arrived at his feet, he had no United players within a handful of yards of him despite being central to the goal and just outside the six-yard box.
