Martial has not been seen since he became ill at the beginning of December, and his manager Erik ten Hag has not provided much information to the public about his whereabouts.
He has frequently emphasized that Martial has been ill or simply described him as unreachable.
On the other hand, it has just come to light that Martial has been struggling with a groin injury, which, following surgery, will prevent him from participating in any activities for more than two months.
“Manchester United striker Anthony Martial has completed successful surgery to address a groin complaint and will be out of action for about ten weeks as he rehabilitates,” according to the club’s statement.

Martial has already missed seven games due to illness and injury, but he is not expected to return to the field until the middle of April.
This puts him in a race against time to make a comeback before the end of United’s Premier League season.
Just five more matches remain until the end of the season, which is when Martial’s current contract with the Red Devils is scheduled to expire.
United will play Bournemouth on April 13, and there are only five more matches left until the season is over.
The contract of the 28-year-old player does have an option for a 12-month extension; however, it is not anticipated that United will exercise that condition.
