Just in time for the match against Manchester City, we have some wonderful news to share with you.

Liverpool received a much-needed boost as Egypt granted the club’s request to exempt Mohamed Salah from international duty this month.

Salah’s ongoing struggles with injuries, stemming from the Africa Cup of Nations, have been a concern for both club and country.

His recent return from a hamstring injury, albeit as a substitute against Sparta Prague, underscores the delicate nature of his fitness.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will undoubtedly benefit from Salah’s presence, as they strive to safeguard the star forward’s well-being.

Liverpool’s proactive approach included seeking Salah’s exclusion from Egypt’s squad for the upcoming break, a move aimed at allowing him ample time to recuperate and regain full fitness.

Despite initial resistance from the Egyptian Football Association and newly appointed manager Hossam Hassan, Egypt eventually acquiesced to Liverpool’s plea.

The decision to withdraw Salah from international duty highlights Egypt’s prioritization of the player’s health over participation in a friendly tournament in the UAE.

This shift in stance is particularly noteworthy given previous criticism directed at Salah by manager Hassan for seeking treatment in Merseyside during the Africa Cup of Nations.

He previously said: “If I was the Egypt manager and he told me his desire to travel to Liverpool, I would tell him to continue there, and we have capable men in the national team.”
