Gabriel Martinelli had earlier opened the scoring, while Trossard added the second goal, playing a key role in Arsenal’s offensive effort.
Football pundit Rio Ferdinand was particularly impressed by Trossard’s performance. Speaking to BBC Sports, Ferdinand praised Arsenal’s decision to sign the Belgian winger, calling him “worth every penny.”
Arsenal had acquired Trossard from Brighton for £27 million in 2023, and Ferdinand believes that Trossard has proven to be an excellent addition to Mikel Arteta’s squad.
He highlighted Trossard’s ability to influence games and make a difference at key moments. Ferdinand went on to say, “What a buy Leandro Trossard was! Worth every penny.

Arsenal’s victory was not only dramatic but also a significant result as it brought them level on points with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table, both teams having 14 points.
Chelsea closely follows in third with 13 points, while Liverpool had a chance to overtake everyone with a victory against Wolves later that day.
Pat Nevin, speaking on BBC Radio, also emphasized how much Arsenal deserved the win, stating that they were superior to Leicester City “by a country mile.”
He applauded the Gunners’ resilience, noting their character and determination not to give up, even when the game seemed to be slipping away.
Under Mikel Arteta, Arsenal has transformed into one of the Premier League’s strongest teams, finishing second in the previous two seasons. This year, they are once again considered serious contenders for the league title, and their performance against Leicester demonstrated why.
Throughout the match, Arsenal created numerous chances and applied relentless pressure, particularly through set-pieces. Although the win may not have been the most elegant, Arsenal will gladly take the three points and continue their push for the title.
