“They are” – Enzo Maresca updates on two injured Chelsea players after Forest draw

by Dandozzy

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has provided an injury update on two of his players after he saw his side draw 1-1 with Nottingham Forest at home yesterday afternoon.

It was the last game before yet another international break, so Maresca would have been hoping to send his international players off injury free, and then keep the rest of them in the group to continue training ahead of the return of domestic football.

Chelsea have done much better with injuries so far this season compared to the last two seasons – it’s actually been very refreshing to see.

Of course you are always going to get injuries in this game, that is always going to be unavoidable. And there was two concerns for two players who came off last night.

Colwill appears to be OK

Both Noni Madueke and Levi Colwill have been called up again for the England national team, and they were the two players who came off injured yesterday.

We are yet to hear if there is any doubts to them joining the England camp, but Maresca has provided an update on both of them via the Chelsea website.

He says:

“I think they are both ok when they went inside [to the changing room]. We will see but I don’t think there is any problem there.”

That certainly does sound very promising, especially for Colwill who was seemingly in quite a bit of discomfort during the second half of the game yesterday and did end up coming off eventually.
