Former Sporting Clube de Portugal boss Amorim was chosen as United’s new head coach on the back of Erik ten Hag’s dismissal.
Last month, the 39-year-old officially took charge of his new team and has so far won two and drawn one of his opening three matches.
As a result of Sunday’s 4-0 win over Everton, the Red Devils have now moved up to ninth place in the Premier League table, four points behind the all-important Champions League places.
Amorim has already won over many United fans as they began chanting his name during matches.
However, ahead of a mouth-watering Premier League clash against Arsenal at the Emirates on Wednesday night, Amorim has requested United fans to stop the chant.
As reported by The Sun writer Neil Custis, who wrote on social media: “I don’t like my chant. I don’t like it. I feel a little bit, not embarrassed, but because I’m the coach, they have to chant for the players and for the club. So it’s not a good thing for me.”

Amorim has also labelled the Arsenal match as the biggest challenge he’s faced so far.
He said: “Yeah, it’s the best team. It’s the best team that we’ve faced, by far. But the test is every game. If you see the last game, yesterday, was really tough. It was a 4-0 but you see the game like I see it. Every game now is a test without so many minutes to train.
“Trying to manage the numbers of minutes of so many players, you cannot try to imagine one game. You have to know that some players might have to be out of the pitch in 60 minutes, 70 minutes so it’s really hard at this moment. Everything is a test but Arsenal are… I know it’s not easy for [a] Manchester United [head coach] to say, but they are in a different point of their team. They are in a different moment.”
