United is planning an extension as Dutchman nears the end of his first year in charge.

According to Okpops understanding, Manchester United intend to begin negotiations with Erik ten Hag over a new contract for the manager’s position.
Ten Hag was given the position of manager of United in 2022, and in his first year in charge, the club achieved a third-place finish in the Premier League and won the Carabao Cup. The new season has gotten off to a rough start for United, who have suffered four losses so far while also dealing with a lot of concerns off the field. Despite these challenges, United have bounced back with two wins in a matter of days. On Tuesday night, they earned a 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace.
The Dutchman’s current contract with United is not set to expire until June 2025; however, there is an option to extend it for an additional year. Despite this, it is believed that renewal talks were always scheduled to take place approximately 18 months into the initial deal. The upper echelons of the club’s leadership aim to keep working with them and have already made contact with Ten Hag’s camp.
Since the Glazer family made the announcement that they were “beginning a process to explore strategic alternatives” with reference to an investment in the club or a transfer of ownership ten months ago, the club and its staff have been thrown into disarray as a result of the process.

Ten Hag recently stated in public that the club requested him to “set and control standards” because “there was no good culture” before he joined from Ajax. This revelation came after Ten Hag made the admission in public. Despite the significant financial commitment made to Sancho in 2021 (in the form of a transfer fee and wages), those in positions of authority are firmly behind the manager.

This is because players and staff look to Ten Hag to provide both of these things.
Even if they are waiting for a response from the Glazer family, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim are still a potential buyer for United from the Glazer family. Even now, Raine Group, which is accountable for supervising the takeover on the family’s behalf, is waiting on the Glazers for additional information on the offers that have been made for United. It is thought that they are demanding £6 billion for a complete sale of the company.
