The goalie for Manchester United, Andre Onana, has come under fire from Samir Handanovic, a former teammate of Handanovic’s at Inter.

After a number of months of speculation regarding his future, Onana ultimately decided to leave Ajax on a free transfer and sign with Inter during the summer of 2022.

Even though Onana did not make his debut in Serie A until October, club captain Handanovic maintained his position in the starting lineup. This was the case despite the fact that the Cameroonian played every minute of their historic run in the Champions League.

It was decided that Onana would take over the starting position for the remainder of the season, despite the fact that he would occasionally have a respite for league games during the team’s impressive run in Europe.

Both Onana and Handanovic parted ways with Inter at the end of the 2022–2023 season; the former joined United, and the latter is currently contemplating retiring from professional soccer at some point in the near future.

In a recent interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, Handanovic addressed Onana’s earlier comments in which he stated that his transition to Inter “wasn’t easy.” Onana had said that Handanovic’s move to Inter “wasn’t easy.”

Handanovic said, “I liked those words, but I didn’t like his behavior in the first two months, when he didn’t play.” During that time, the player wasn’t on the court.

“After that, he admitted that everything was as it should have been, and I have to say that I have never lied to him and have even offered to help him.”

“However, nobody brought up the fact that I was out for the entirety of the previous season due to a variety of injuries, including a fractured wrist, a broken finger, and a strained calf.

“However, even when I wasn’t able to play, I still remained on the bench with the rest of the team. And due to the fact that I back the team together with its fans, you will never find me rooting against the team.

Onana has not had an easy time adjusting to her new life at United, just like everyone else. The Red Devils have only managed to come out on top in two of their first five games, and they have taken the loss column three times.

The 27-year-old keeper was responsible for the only clean sheet in their home win over Wolves by a score of 1-0. It was incredibly fortunate for him not to have been called for a penalty when he tripped over attacker Sasa Kalajdzic in the dying seconds of the game.
