Liverpool is interested in acquiring a Premier League player worth sixty million pounds to join their team at Anfield.

Both Liverpool and Manchester United are expected to be active in the transfer market this summer in quest of a center-back.

It has just come to light that the Reds are reportedly interested in acquiring one of the players that Manchester United is looking to acquire.

Since the summer of 2017, Erik ten Hag has been looking for a new defender, but United has not been able to provide him with one. Marc Guehi, who plays for Crystal Palace, was one of the names that appeared on the list that the Dutch coach had compiled.

Prior to the January transfer window, it was claimed that the Eagles wanted sixty million pounds for the 23-year-old player. This prevented Manchester United from making a deal because of worries regarding financial fair play.

It is possible that this will come back to haunt Manchester United, as Liverpool is now interested in the player, as reported by the Telegraph.

However, this will rely on the new sporting director and manager.

Due to the fact that Joel Matip’s contract at Anfield is about to end, Liverpool is going to be without the center back this summer.

There is a high probability that the Reds will seek to replace him, and Guehi is a candidate to fill that post.

Although it is unknown whether the Crystal Palace star will still cost sixty million pounds in the summer, it appears that this is a reasonable figure for the 23-year-old player given that he has demonstrated his ability to play in the Premier League.

There is still a possibility that Manchester United will be able to convince the center back to come to Old Trafford.

Considering that the player has been on their radar for a longer period of time, this might be advantageous for them.

On the other hand, if the Merseyside club is able to play in the Champions League more than the Red Devils, then it will most likely be more important.
