Liverpool will be without their first-choice goalkeeper, Alisson, for the next six weeks due to a hamstring injury he sustained during last weekend’s 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace.

The 32-year-old went down in the second half at Selhurst Park after kicking a backpass from Trent Alexander-Arnold, and his visible frustration indicated the seriousness of the injury.

After undergoing a scan, it has been confirmed that Alisson will be sidelined until after the November international break, according to The Times’ Paul Joyce.

This is a significant setback for Liverpool manager Arne Slot, as Alisson plays a key role both on the pitch and in the locker room.

Alisson is set to miss crucial matches against teams like Chelsea, Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Bayer Leverkusen, with Caoimhin Kelleher expected to step in for seven games over 20 days.

Kelleher will have an opportunity to impress during Alisson’s absence, especially as he is likely to leave Liverpool next summer following the arrival of Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia.

Kelleher has consistently performed well when called upon, and this period will allow him to showcase his abilities to Premier League clubs, which could be a short-term benefit for Slot’s team.
