Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella has shared his thoughts on his long-term future, revealing that he envisions playing in Spain again at some point in his career.
While it’s common for players to consider exploring new opportunities abroad, Cucurella’s remarks hint at a clear desire to return to his homeland.
The Spaniard reflected on his journey during an interview conducted while on international duty. Speaking about his time at Chelsea, he acknowledged initial struggles and criticism but noted a significant turnaround in both form and fan perception.
Cucurella said, “It was a tough few months, but in the end, you learn from everything. Now I’m in a very good moment, and the fans are very supportive.
My family has adapted well to London, and things at the club are improving. However, in the future, I would like to return to Spain.”
Despite recent success at Chelsea, including an impressive showing at the Euros, Cucurella remains open about his ambition to one day play in La Liga again, keeping the door to his native country firmly ajar.
