Sheffield United have announced that the women’s team’s player Maddy Cusack has passed away at the age of 27.

It was revealed on Thursday by the club that the midfielder, who also worked for the organization as a marketing executive, had passed away on Wednesday.

Cusack had been a member of the Bramall Lane team since January 2019, and he had reached the milestone of 100 appearances with the club during the previous campaign.

The chief executive of the club, Stephen Bettis, stated that “This is heartbreaking news for everyone at Bramall Lane.”

Because of her warm and kind demeanor and her dedication to her work, she was an asset to her family and she will be sorely missed.

“While taking in the news and moving forward, the Club will offer Maddy’s family, friends, and colleagues as much support as possible,”

Cusack played for Birmingham for one season before moving on to play for the Blades. The Blues have expressed their condolences over the loss of their former player in a statement that reads, “The Club are saddened to learn of the passing of former player Maddy Cusack.” During this incredibly trying time, we are thinking of Maddy’s family and friends often.
