Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has addressed rumors that players in the starting lineup are giving stories to the press.

Despite coming off the heels of a strong 2022–2023 season, the Red Devils have had a poor start to the 2023–2024 campaign.

Ten Hag’s team lost their first Champions League group stage encounter on Wednesday evening, falling to Bayern Munich 4-3. They have now lost three of their first five Premier League games.

English media reports indicate that Ten Hag’s tactical decisions are starting to be questioned by the United team, and there are claims that he gives some of his best players special treatment.

In a news conference on Friday before their journey to Burnley, Ten Hag was questioned about these reports. He acknowledged that he was unsure whether there was a leak coming from the dressing room.

“I don’t know if it’s a leak, but I am aware of my players’ opinions. We welcome suggestions from everyone,” he stated.
“You have to win every game at United in order for things to change. There is never an easy game, especially not against Burnley, so it all comes down to how we perform.”

United’s performance on the field comes after a number of well-publicized events off it. The way the club handled Mason Greenwood’s comeback has drawn criticism, Jadon Sancho is practicing away from the first squad due to a disciplinary issue, and Antony is now on leave due to allegations of violence from three women.

Ten Hag was questioned about if the difficulties he has encountered at United so far have shocked him.

“Not at all. This year is my second. As long as you stick together, you will have your gaps and grow stronger from them, I know it’s not always uphill,” he answered.

That is our current endeavor. Everyone at United is united, including the medical staff, coaches, and dressing room personnel. At United, you fight.”
