However, this may be an ambitious move because it appears that Pep Guardiola is not interested in allowing the 28-year-old to join another English team.
It is certainly not a prudent move for City to sell to Liverpool at a time when both clubs are competing for the Premier League title this year. It is possible that Guardiola is also lamenting the fact that he allowed Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko to join Arsenal during the previous season.
Kalvin Phillips is being linked with Liverpool
Phillips is a talented player who has been deprived of more opportunities to play at the Etihad Stadium. It is not difficult to believe that he would have a significant influence after moving to Liverpool.
