According to sources who spoke to ESPN, West Ham United has made better offers for the defender Harry Maguire and the midfielder Scott McTominay who play for Manchester United each.

United had already rejected offers for Maguire and McTominay that were approximately twenty million pounds, but West Ham has now come back with an offer that is closer to sixty million pounds for both players combined.

As a result of Declan Rice’s departure to Arsenal in a deal that may potentially reach £105 million, David Moyes is exploring the possibility of strengthening his squad.

Both Maguire and McTominay have been informed that they will be a part of Erik ten Hag’s squad prior to the start of the new season. However, United will not stand in their way if they wish to leave the club and the club gets bids that are comparable to their valuation when they leave.

Maguire and McTominay are individually valued at over forty million pounds by United, and Ten Hag would be eager to sign replacements in the event that they depart the club. This weekend marks the beginning of the 2023-24 season, and two further potential sources of revenue for future acquisitions are the departures of Fred and Donny van de Beek. Both of these players are leaving the team.

Sofyan Amrabat, a midfielder for Fiorentina, is attracting interest from other clubs, and Jonny Evans, a defender for Leicester City, is currently practicing with the club after being released from his contract at the conclusion of the previous season.

ESPN has been informed by sources that United are leaving their options open with Evans, who signed a short-term deal to allow him to play matches during preseason. United has not ruled out the possibility of providing the 35-year-old a one-year contract that would allow him to continue playing. This week, he is scheduled to meet with Ten Hag for a discussion.

With the acquisition of Mason Mount, Andre Onana, and Rasmus Hojlund for a combined total of £165 million ($209 million), United have already exceeded their budget for the summer transfer of players.

The club coached by Ten Hag, which finished third in the Premier League the previous year, will kick off the new season on August 14 against Wolves.
