“I have always aspired to play for Manchester United, but I felt driven to leave the club. However, I have decided to rejoin Manchester United under certain conditions.”

The sports director of Borussia Dortmund, Sebastian Kehl, stated that it would be too expensive for the club to transfer Jadon Sancho from Manchester United to Borussia Dortmund on a permanent basis while he is on loan.

Sancho established himself as one of the most talented wingers in Europe during his first stint with Dortmund, which lasted from 2017 to 2021.

Following an altercation with Erik ten Hag and being barred from playing in Manchester, he made his way back to Germany on a temporary basis and returned there last month.

It has already been stated by Sancho that returning to Dortmund is like returning to “home.” In addition, he mentioned that this was something that was constantly going through his head while he was working at United.

On the other hand, Kehl stated that the Bundesliga team most likely will not be able to afford to purchase him during the summer, which means that his time there may not be permanent.

The same thing is happening with Chelsea left defender Ian Maatsen, who is now on loan from Dortmund. Dortmund is in the same predicament.

As far as Kehl is concerned, both players were dissatisfied with the fact that neither option was a decent one.

In addition to this, he stated, “If you are aware of what we obtained for Jadon Sancho two and a half years ago, then you are aware that it might not be really that difficult.” He was referring to the transfer to England that cost 73 million pounds.

We naturally argued for a [permanent] option on him, and we also advocated for it with Ian; nevertheless, the bargaining stance was not such that we could execute it, and as a result, we will accept it for the time being.

There was a purchase option that was included in the contract; however, United made sure to leave it out of the package.

There is a possibility that his value would skyrocket once more if he were to play at Dortmund as he did in the past. This is a tactic that the club has utilized in the past in regard to loan transactions, the most notable of which was when Alexis Sanchez played for Inter in 2019.

Since the month of August, Sancho has skipped a game for United. While he has just been in the Bundesliga for three weeks, he has already played more minutes than he has in the Premier League in the past five months.

During his first two games, the 23-year-old player contributed to Dortmund’s victories over Darmstadt and Koln by setting up goals. However, he was unable to participate in the match against Heidenheim on Friday due to an injury.
