Neymar sent a message to Chelsea’s 17-year-old rising star Estevao willian after the young player broke a record Neymar held for 15 years in Brazil’s top football league.
Chelsea signed Estêvão from Palmeiras in June, and he will officially join the team in July 2025 after turning 18. Estêvão has been performing well in South America ahead of his move to England, and Neymar, a fellow Brazilian, has praised him.
Estêvão set a new record with 18 goal contributions in a single season for a player under 18 in Brazil’s Serie A, breaking Neymar’s previous record of 16, which Neymar set in 2009 while playing for Santos.
On Instagram, Neymar congratulated Estêvão, encouraging him to keep shining and impressing people with his football skills, telling him to “fly.”
Estêvão also shared that Chelsea player Cole Palmer messaged him after he signed with the club. Palmer called him a “star,” and Estêvão responded by saying Palmer is a star too. They expressed excitement about doing great things together for Chelsea.
Chelsea reportedly paid €34 million (£28.5 million) to sign Estêvão, with possible additional payments based on his performance. Estêvão has already made his debut for Brazil’s national team and seems set for a promising football career.
