  • Sancho alleged that he was singled out at Old Trafford and made a scapegoat.
  • After discussions with United officials, a controversial social media post was taken down.
  • The winger will not be joining the rest of the team.

Jadon Sancho, a winger for Manchester United, will not be training with the rest of the first-team squad until the incident involving him and manager Erik ten Hag is being reviewed. This was verified by Manchester United.

After Ten Hag officially claimed to have dropped the winger from his squad owing to poor performances in training before the 3-1 loss to Arsenal, Sancho took to social media to allege that he had been made a “scapegoat” at United. Sancho claimed that he was created a “scapegoat” after Ten Hag openly claimed to have dropped the winger from his team.

After being up for more than a week, that particular message was eventually taken down after Sancho and authorities representatives from United had discussions earlier this week.

In a statement published on their official website, United have now provided confirmation of the action that was taken.
According to a statement released by the club, “Jadon Sancho will remain on a personal training program away from the first-team group in the interim while a squad discipline issue is resolved.”

Along with Sancho, Ten Hag is currently without fellow winger Antony, who has been granted an extended leave from his club duties in order to contest allegations of assault brought by three women in Brazil. Sancho is also absent from the lineup at this time.

Despite the fact that United’s winger options are clearly limited, 90min has learned that the club has been presented with the opportunity to sign free agents Anwar El Ghazi and Oussama Idrissi. Neither player is anticipated to be pursued by the Red Devils, however.

Due to the absences of Sancho and Antony, United only have Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Facundo Pellistri in their senior team who are recognized as playing the position of winger.

Shola Shoretire and Hannibal Mejbri are both young players who have the potential to contribute to the team while Amad Diallo is sidelined with a knee injury and working to recover from it.
