Liverpool has agreed to pay £44 million for an attacking prospect, who will be free to sign with any club in the next summer signing.

Liverpool has a chance to win the competition if they are able to sign a player whose current deal will run out in 2024.

Even though they may already have the most potent attacking options in the Premier League, Liverpool still intends to make additions to their roster in January.

Up front, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has a number of talented players to choose from, including Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunes, Luis Diaz, and Diogo Jota. It is safe to say that there is no shortage of quality players.
However, Liverpool will not be content with what they have and may be close to achieving the conditions necessary to trigger the release clause of one of the most exciting talents in Europe.

According to 90min, Liverpool is going to sign Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao in January with a release clause added to his existing deal for £44 million. Williams is currently under contract with Athletic Bilbao.

However, the Spanish winger’s current deal with Athletic Bilbao is set to expire in the summer of 2024, which means that Liverpool might come to an arrangement with him on a pre-contract in the month of January.
If United wants him right away, they will need to satisfy the release clause in his contract.

Williams is being courted by Athletic Bilbao, who not only want to retain him in the Basque Country but also want to keep him as a member of their club. They have proposed to Williams a new and extended contract.
Despite enormous parties traveling all over Europe, the club is optimistic that they will be able to sustain this.

John Uriarte remarked that the situation does not worry them at all.
“We have faith that he will be refreshed and decide to remain with us, and we are certain that this will take place.

“We want a compelling project, and we’re confident that Nico Williams will be a part of it for many years to come.”

Despite this, the 21-year-old player has not made a decision and plans to continue keeping his options open for the significant January transfer window.

Liverpool isn’t the only club that has shown interest; Barcelona and Aston Villa are as well.
Therefore, prompt action is required if the club wants to capture him on a free transfer or for the previously mentioned amount of £44 million.

Williams has played in seven games so far in La Liga this season and has contributed four assists. According to Transfermarkt, Williams is currently valued at £35 million.
