According to ESPN, the former Liverpool star’s friendship with the former president of Bourges Foot 18 Cheikh Sylla reportedly boosted his decision to invest in the French club. It is claimed that the former Liverpool great has been wishing to invest in a football team for some time.

It has been reported that Mané contributed some funds to the team in order to assist in the recruitment of players during the summer transfer window; however, the announcement made on Wednesday formally designates him as the team’s new owner.
