In an exclusive interview with Football Insider, a former striker for Aston Villa indicated that although Jurgen Klopp will not be happy to lose him, it may be “good business” for the Merseysiders to let him go because of the potential financial benefits.
Football Insider revealed on Monday, October 30, that in spite of ongoing interest from Saudi Arabia, Liverpool will not sell their top player, Mohamed Salah, who will be 31 years old in January.
Insiders have also told Football Insider that the Saudi Pro League is apparently working behind the scenes to lure forward and Man City star Kevin De Bruyne to the Middle East in the summer of 2024. De Bruyne is expected to join a team in the region at that time.
In the typical form, Salah has gotten off to a strong start to the 2023–24 season, recording 10 goals and four assists after 13 games played across all competitions.
His rumored contract, which pays him £350,000 a week, is set to expire in June of 2025.
“I do see Mo Salah in Saudi Arabia, 100%,” Agbonlahor told Ewan Kingsbury of Football Insider.
It is expected that he will have the highest wage of all the players. It does take place, and the summertime is when I see it most often.
“There will be one year remaining on his contract, and Liverpool will be aware of this, and they will be able to find a replacement.”
“I don’t think financial considerations are what drives Liverpool. Customers will receive anything they desire so long as they pay the fee that is being required.
Despite the fact that Klopp will not want to let him go, it is probable that he will be given the funds necessary to locate a younger player to take his position.
There is no way to tell if Salah’s legs may start to give up on him in the years to come. In my opinion, it would be beneficial for the company to allow him to retire in the year 2024.
