Today, the confirmation of a bombshell announcement on the sale of Manchester United has been made.

The Chief Executive Officer of Manchester United, Richard Arnold, has stated that he is unable to provide much of an update regarding the planned takeover of the club.

Last year, the Glazer family made the announcement that they would be considering either a full sale of the club or funding from outside sources.

Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani, a banker from Qatar, and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the founder of INEOS, have both made proposals to acquire complete ownership of the club; however, neither of these proposals has been accepted as of yet.

At the beginning of this month, 90min stated that Ratcliffe is now willing to consider purchasing a minority position in United in the event that he is unable to immediately seize complete control of the company.

Earlier this week, United had a forum event for its fans, and one of the questions that was posed to Arnold was about the possibility of a takeover. In spite of this, he was unable to deliver a significant amount of an update.

“The club understood the desire for a resolution as soon as possible but reiterated that, as a publicly listed company, it was impossible to provide updates until such a time as there is an outcome that can be communicated to the market,” stated the president.

Arnold responded to a question about whether or not the Glazers are aware of the fans’ fervent desire for the club to find new owners by saying, “The club was transparent in its feedback to the owners.”

In his remarks at the event, United’s football director John Murtough said that the club was conducting an investigation into the injury crisis that has plagued their season up to this point. Arnold, on the other hand, justified the club’s recent decisions on transfer deals.

“John Murtough and the team have a well-defined long-term strategy for the squad, which serves as a framework for our decision-making process during each available window. Arnold stated, “We were aware that there would be a transition, but I do share the frustration of the playing group and fans that the results have not yet matched expectations this far.”
