A disturbing statistic from the Premier League has revealed the extent to which the video assistant referee (VAR) has been cheating Liverpool this year.

The goal scored by Sander Berge for Burnley versus Nottingham Forest was initially disallowed due to a possible handball, but it was later reversed by the video assistant referee because of the incident.

A similar situation occurred during the match between Manchester United and Arsenal. At first, United was awarded a penalty for a foul committed on Kai Havertz; however, referee Anthony Taylor decided to disregard the recommendation of the video assistant referee and instead review the incident on the pitchside monitor.

It is surprising to see that Liverpool has been the most affected by VAR blunders this season, with four decisions going against them.

This is despite the fact that Liverpool has been accused of being biased against the United States. According to ESPN, Brighton and Wolves have also been subjected to severe decisions from the video assistant referee (VAR).

On the other hand, Aston Villa has reaped the greatest benefits from the use of VAR, boasting three rulings that have been in their favor.

The controversial nature of the use of video assistant referees in modern football is shown by the fact that Nottingham Forest, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Newcastle United each received two rulings in their favor from the visual assistant referees.
